Welcome to Hoag Counseling services. What a joy it is to be able to provide therapy, guidance, mentoring and coaching for adults on a host of issues, many of which are outlined on my "services" page. I specialize in Christian counseling for adult women, applying spiritual disciplines and incorporating intentional living in daily life. It is only through being fully aware of the gift of each person's uniqueness that we can begin to lay hold of real and lasting peace that transcends our circumstances.
As a licensed professional counselor in private practice, my mission is to facilitate healing of painful emotions, release past wounds, restore healthy relationships, retrain the mind, and ultimately embrace intimacy with God, self, and others. The highest goal of Christian counseling is to help people move to personal wholeness, interpersonal competence, mental stability, and spiritual maturity.
Living a joyful, contented and abundant life is not about overcoming our circumstances, increasing our level of self-esteem or improving our momentary level of happiness. Overflowing joy comes from harnessing the freedom to enjoy the gift of life to its fullest, regardless of the circumstances we find ourselves in. This is my passion: to encourage my clients to come face-to-face with the gift of their own uniqueness, to take pleasure in who they have been created to be, to discover their sweet spot in what they have been created to do, and then to find satisfaction in enjoying the distinctiveness of those they live with and love. Through mutual love and respect, honoring and cherishing, we can be restored to the joy of what it means to be fully human and fully alive.
